Text: Ephesians 1:5
*ESV:
In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will.
*ETS:
God predetermined our adoption through Christ for the purpose of making us his children.
*DTFTD:
God loves those he calls out of the world. In love he has willed their relationship with him to be permanent by adoption through Christ. He also predetermined to give them adult status that they may begin to enjoy being joint heirs with Christ, (knowing and doing the will of God).
*EDS:
To the Saved: You are loved of God; you have been predestined to be God’s child; your life in Christ affords you access to God as an adult son or daughter (Gal. 4:5; Romans 8:15: 9:4).
