Text: Ephesians 1:2
*ESV:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
*ETS:
The Apostle Paul expressed the desire to keep grace and peace in the minds of the saints in Ephesus, and to constantly remind them of the source of such – God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
*DTFTD:
One of the most peaceful thoughts that could possibly occupy our minds is the thought that God in grace pardoned our sin and purchased us to be his children through the works of Jesus Christ our Lord.
God’s grace has allowed us the privilege to call Him Father, and the peace of knowing Jesus as LORD.
*EDS:
Divine grace and peace is yours if God is your Father and Jesus is your Lord.
INGREDIENTS: An encouragement to think good thoughts; A reminder of relationships established by grace; A word that results in peace. Word Study: The Greek word “Grace” is transliterated “charis.” The word means “the undeserved unmerited favor of God” (Cleon Rogers Jr. and Cleon Rogers III. The New Linguistic and Exegetical Key to the Greek New Testament. Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1998.) Through Christ we receive what we could never deserve, and because of Christ we do not receive what we do deserve.
