Text: Ephesians 1:3

*ESV:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

*ETS:
This verse reminds the believer that heaven’s gift of Christ was all heaven had to offer. Everything is in Jesus.

*DTFTD:

The Christian is the most blessed creature in creation. He or she, has the privilege of life, and in new birth, the privilege of being granted God’s kind of life. The verse for today is a reminder that God, who gave us his kind of life, will cause us to enjoy it more abundantly in Christ. When we received the gift of Christ, we received the Giver of all heavenly blessings.

*EDS:

When you received Christ, you truly received the Gift that keeps on giving. Praise God forever!

INGREDIENTS: An encouragement to praise God; A reminder of unlimited blessings available in Christ; A current and future focus – heaven. Word Study: “Eulogetos” is the transliteration of the word in the text “blessed.” Rogers & Rogers say, “verbal adjectives with this ending indicate one who is worthy, i.e., ‘worthy of blessing’” (The New Linguistic and Exegetical key to the Greek New Testament. Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1998). This verse begins the longest outflowing of praise in all of Paul’s letters.
